Grumbling Gryphons Traveling Children's Theater presents "Anansi: The Trickster Spider," a lively adaptation of a West African folktale. The event begins with a Pre-Performance Workshop at 9:00 AM, where children of all ages can learn songs, dances, chants, and their roles as busy bees, monkeys, lions, and more! No experience necessary!

At 10:00 AM, brace yourself for an immersive journey as Leslie Elias and Daniel Saed, the dynamic duo of Grumbling Gryphons, take the stage. With live music by the talented Brian Bender on keyboard and trombone, this highly interactive show promises to captivate and entertain the whole family.
About the Show:
"Anansi: The Trickster Spider" brings to life the mischievous and comical character of Anansi, who embarks on a quest to retrieve stolen stories from Nyame, the Sky God. Children in the audience will play a vital role in helping Anansi outwit the jungle's various animals in this engaging tale, "How Anansi Brought the Stories Down."
About the Artists:
Meet Leslie Elias, the Connecticut Arts Hero and artistic director of Grumbling Gryphons. With a passion for enriching young minds, she has been adapting and directing captivating productions for over 43 years. Leslie will also showcase her acting talents as she brings to life multiple characters in the show, including Crocodile, Monkey, Lion, and Queen Bee.
Daniel Saed, the talented actor, singer, and voice artist, plays the lead role of Anansi-The Trickster Spider. He has been an integral part of Grumbling Gryphons for years and has been recognized for his exceptional performances in various productions.
Keyboardist and Trombonist, Brian Bender, accompanies the group and is a graduate of the New England Conservatory. He's performed his original klezmer music internationally.
