About The Event

After the sold-out success of Stand-Up Downstairs is The Stissing Center, we’re moving this new show upstairs to the Main Stage. It’s a night of (raucous!) COMEDY featuring Cynthia Levin, Jim Dailakis, host Rachel Lenihan (Pine Plains’ own!), and another great talent or two yet to be announced. Mark the date on your calendar!

Host Rachel Lenihan is a stand-up comedian, writer, and visual artist based in New York City, but most importantly she went to Stissing Mountain High School and gave swimming lessons at the local Pine Plains Rec Center. Rachel performs regularly at New York Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club and was on the writing staff of The Chris Gethard Show on Tru Tv. She was listed in Metropolitan Magazine as a “talented young comedian with tight devastatingly awkward jokes reminiscent of great one-liner comics such as Steven Wright but with a Millennial twist.”

After launching a stand-up career that now spans 30 years, Cynthia Levin quickly became a regular at L.A. clubs like The Comedy Store and The Improv, and later at New York City clubs, including The Comic Strip Live and Stand Up NY. Cynthia’s stand-up experience has taken her around the globe, including performances in Latin America, Canada, Asia, and Europe. Some TV credits as a comic include ABC’s, “Comics Unleashed” with Byron Allen, Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd” with Colin Quinn, and B.E.T.’s, Comic View. However, we here at The Stissing Center think her 2022 performance in The Cellar at the Center was her biggest gig yet!

Moody McCarthy is a stand-up comedian who has performed on Jimmy Kimmel LiveConan, and twice on the Letterman Show. He can be seen in North America’s top clubs and heard on Sirius/XM radio. Moody started his career in his hometown of Syracuse, NY, and is now based in New York City where he lives with his wife and two wee lasses. Moody’s material is described as original but universal, and smart without being trite. Couple that with a disarming presence & in-the-moment chops, you’ll see why he’s earned the respect of his peers for his ability to “go up cold”.

Headlining this event is New York-based Australian actor/writer/comedian Jim Dailakis has been touring the world for the last 20 years, headlining in major comedy clubs including Caroline’s, Standup New York, Broadway Comedy Club, and Dangerfield’s all in New York City. He’s performed at The Borgata in Atlantic City, in 44 of the United States, and across Canada on the IG Corporate 53 City Tour and IG Ontario Tour in sold-out 2000+ seat theaters, as well as performances in Australia, Scotland, Cayman Islands, Singapore, and Malaysia. He’s also performed at the Montréal, Halifax, Palandri, and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals. Jim has shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld and opened for Larry the Cable Guy, Kevin Nealon, Caroline Rhea, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, and Weird Al Yankovic. He’s performed alongside Brad Garrett from Everybody Loves Raymond at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He’s animated, witty, charming, likable, and never offensive, and his performances have earned him standing ovations and adoration from audiences worldwide.
