5 Questions with Filmmaker Matt Bartolomeo. A lifelong resident of Pine Plains, NY, Matt found a love of film and music at an early age, producing his first album, and short film by age 15. In 2024, Matt’s short film, Pete’s Jeeps, a short film on his father’s love of restoring WWII era Jeeps, would premiere at the Hudson Valley Film Festival. This autumn Matt will premiere his first feature film Dream.

First Annual Downtown Upstate Festival Comes To Ancram And Pine Plains
The first annual Downtown Upstate Festival will bring the best of NYC downtown theater to the Hudson Valley from Sept. 7 – 22, 2024 and feature three different shows at two different venues over three consecutive weekends. The festival is presented by Ancram Center for the Arts and The Stissing Center for Arts & Culture, and produced by Soho Think Tank with funding from the New York State Council for the Arts.

Last Friday evening at The Stissing Center in Pine Plains pianist Sophia Zhou accompanied Tenor Daniel McGrew and Soprano Katherine Lerner Lee in a sophisticated program with abundant variety.
