The Stissing Center for Arts and Culture is proud to announce a special fundraising event on September 28th featuring the internationally acclaimed Broadway and film star, Alan Cumming.

At 8:00 PM, Alan Cumming will take the stage in Banning Hall, delivering a performance that promises to be as electrifying as it is intimate. With a career that spans theater, film, and television, Cumming’s presence at the Stissing Center is a testament to the venue’s commitment to bringing world-class entertainment to our local community.

The first annual Downtown Upstate Festival will bring the best of NYC downtown theater to the Hudson Valley from Sept. 7 – 22, 2024 and feature three different shows at two different venues over three consecutive weekends. The festival is presented by Ancram Center for the Arts and The Stissing Center for Arts & Culture, and produced by Soho Think Tank with funding from the New York State Council for the Arts.

Last Friday evening at The Stissing Center in Pine Plains pianist Sophia Zhou accompanied Tenor Daniel McGrew and Soprano Katherine Lerner Lee in a sophisticated program with abundant variety. Sophia introduced the program by acclaiming the great European song tradition as one of the great musical achievements on this globe.

A three-hour drive from Boston lies the surprisingly rural Duchess County (NY) town of Pine Plains, the somewhat improbable home of the Stissing Center for Arts and Culture.
