RiverBlue combines the talents of Ron Minkoff (vocals/rhythm guitar/percussion) and Dan Blum (lead guitar/vocals), both long-time veterans of the Hudson Valley music scene. Ron and Dan will play original and cover songs from their two CDs, combining rock, folk, bluegrass and country into something entirely new and exciting.
Ron is celebrating his 20th year as a member of the TJs, a band which has played clubs across New York City and points north, including several performances in Pine Plains. Dan, who has taught guitar in the Bronx and Westchester for 45 years, is a founding member of another local favorite band, The Hudson Line. Ron and Dan will play original songs that combine rock, folk, bluegrass and country, as well as covers from artists like the Byrds, the Kinks, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. They have been playing together for almost 30 years, and have recorded two CDs (Wanderer on the 6:09 and Honky Tonk Highway). Joining Ron and Dan will be multi-instrumentalist Ron Swidler, on bass and recorder, and Kerry Elgarten, on alto sax.
