'The Maker and The Muse' new musical play reading written by Schuyler Press

Event
Information

TICKETS ON SALE IN JANUARY

The Maker and the Muse is a new original two act musical following young disillusioned artists: Schuyler (the writer) and Oliver (the actor) as they search for some authenticity in modern day New York City. Schuyler and Oliver are strangers but after a chance encounter in a chain café, they are catapulted into a surreal, musical reimagining of 1960s New York where they step into the lives of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe. They are swept into a world of raw passion and artistic awakening, discovering timeless truths about love, creativity, and the courage to embrace their own voices.

Although this piece is inspired by the lives of two iconic artists, all of the music and art depicted throughout is completely original. We encourage audiences to allow the lines between reality and imagination to blur and to step into the chaotic, beautiful world of creation and connection. The Maker and the Muse is a love letter to anyone who has ever felt lost in their pursuit of meaning and found their way through the courage to create. Let’s reimagine the past, rediscover the present and celebrate the timeless power of art together.
