Estuary Tales: The Life & Times of the Hudson River

Event
Information

Arm-of-the-Sea Theater presents Estuary Tales: The Life & Times of the Hudson River, a visually rich performance that explores the layered history of “America’s River.” Giant sturgeon, eels, and river otters share the stage with steamboats, fishermen, immigrants, and citizen scientists, bringing the Hudson’s story to life with imagination and care. Through inventive puppetry, live music, and a touch of humor, the show reveals the river’s complex inner world and the long effort to restore and protect it. Rooted in the Hudson River Valley, Arm-of-the-Sea has been creating original mask and puppet theater since 1982. Founded by Marlena Marallo and Patrick Wadden, the company is known for its handmade, locally sourced work that blends visual storytelling with music. Their performances often explore the connections between people and the natural world, using art as a way to reflect, engage, and bring communities together.
