Information
An evening of dance, poetry, and piano featuring choreographer Catherine Tharin’s In the Wake of Yes—a multimedia performance with film, music, and spoken word. Poet Alison Granucci explores themes of the natural world, joined by pianist Igor Ferreira, who also performs a solo piece. A rich collaboration of local talent.
Catherine Tharin is a choreographer, writer, curator, and educator. She was a member of the Erick Hawkins Dance Company for seven years touring nationally and internationally. Her choreography has been presented in the tri-state area and the Midwest, as well as in Mexico and Korea. Her writing on dance appears in The Dance Enthusiast, Interlocutor, and Side of Culture, and she has contributed to the Boston Globe. Her dance reporting is heard on WAMC, Northeast Public Radio. At the Moviehouse, Millerton, NY, she programmed films about the life of Martha Graham and moderated a discussion. She was the dance and performance curator at 92NY for 15 years, and senior adjunct professor at Iona College for 20 years. Throughout her career, she has championed both innovative and legacy choreographers, supported artists across the field, and brought critical attention to the art form.
