Massaranduba brings the irresistible sound of Brazilian Forró to Stissing Center, led by percussionist Gil Oliveira with accordionist Felipe Hostins and special guest percussionist Davi Viera — New York-based collaborators with credits alongside Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and Bebel Gilberto. Born from Portuguese accordion tunes and African rhythms in Brazil's rugged sertão, Forró is music, dance, and all-night celebration in one.

Jorge Glem and Sam Reider, Latin GRAMMY nominees, are a dynamic duo blending Venezuelan and American musical traditions. Glem, the GRAMMY-nominated Cuatro player of Venezuelan musical ensemble C4 Trio, and Reider, the acclaimed accordionist and composer, met in New York in 2016. With performances including Lincoln Center and NPR Tiny Desk, their collaboration celebrates cultural exchange. Their debut album, Brooklyn-Cumaná (2022), earned a 2023 Latin GRAMMY nomination.

New Quartet Live features trumpeter Amir ElSaffar, drummer Tomas Fujiwara, tenor saxophonistOle Mathisen, and pianist Tania Giannouli. The ensemble blends jazz instrumentation and Middle Eastern sounds guiding the new ensemble into unexplored musical territories. The music ranges from intensely quiet and nearly silent to ecstatic and declamatory, with the microtonal piano ringing ear-opening and beautifully unconventional harmonies throughout.
